FermTech has raised £2.5 million, alongside founder Andy Clayton and the FermTech team, with backing from Empirical Ventures.
FermTech ferments agricultural side-streams to cut the cost and carbon footprint of ingredients such as cocoa.
The new capital will help the team accelerate development and bring the technology closer to market.
